The Buncombe County LTRG is organized into specialized committees that work together to support disaster recovery. Each committee focuses on a critical area of need, including Housing, Construction, Volunteer Management, Emotional & Spiritual Health, Case Management, Communications, Finance, and In-Kind Supplies. By coordinating efforts across these teams, we provide comprehensive support to help our community rebuild and thrive.

The Case Management Committee will oversee and coordinate disaster case management, ensuring prioritized, equitable assistance and collaboration among stakeholders.

The Communications Committee develops and implements communication strategies to inform the public, engage stakeholders, and promote LTRG operations. This committee ensures consistent messaging across multiple platforms and fosters relationships with media representatives to amplify disaster recovery efforts. It exists to coordinate effective education and pertinent messaging about disaster recovery, relief activity, and mutual aid opportunities in formats that are linguistically and culturally accessible to all community members.

The Construction Committee of the LTRG will oversee and coordinate construction and rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of TS Helene. The committee commits to ensuring that affected residents receive quality construction services to rebuild safe, resilient, and sustainable homes through collaborative planning, resource sharing, and coordinated project management.

The Emotional & Spiritual Health Committee provides emotional and psychological support to individuals and families affected by disaster. The committee ensures that those impacted receive compassionate emotional and spiritual care, community connections, and referrals to professional services when needed.

The Finance Committee will oversee financial planning, fundraising, and grant management to ensure sustainable funding for LTRG operations. This committee will develop strategies for securing financial resources, maintaining transparency, ensuring compliance with financial controls, and working closely with the fiscal agent.

The Housing Committee will oversee and coordinate financial assistance and temporary housing support, ensuring prioritized, equitable aid and collaboration among stakeholders.

The In-Kind Donations Committee will oversee and coordinate the receipt, inventory, and management of donated supplies to Buncombe County residents impacted by the disaster and organizations serving those affected by the Tropical Storm Helene disaster.
